Silk Shading Tulip

This was my first real attempt at silk shading and so a real learning curve for me. Silk shading is an exquisite technique, painting with single strands of embroidery floss to achieve a real depth of shading. Using such a dark background added extra challenges to this piece as it changed how the colours appeared.
